Raya’s Fairy First Birthday was all about bringing a whimsical storybook world to life. Designed around an enchanted forest fairy tale theme, the setup featured a pastel-toned colour palette with soft pinks, purples, caramels, and blush – perfect for a first birthday celebration.
The highlight of the decor was a bespoke, hand-painted backdrop that combined a dreamy fairy character with an oversized toadstool-style mushroom house, giving the entire scene a magical, otherworldly feel. A blend of carefully selected balloon clusters framed the setup, layered in tones that echoed the overall theme, with added florals and greenery for a natural woodland touch. We included a life-size fairy character cut-out to further immerse guests into the enchanted atmosphere, ideal for photo opportunities.
One of the key challenges we faced on this project was the venue’s unusually high lighting and plain white space, which required careful consideration when planning the backdrop colours to ensure they didn’t get washed out. Additionally, we had to make last-minute layout adjustments onsite due to space – which meant slightly resizing the structure and reconfiguring balloon placement without compromising the visual impact.
Despite these hurdles, the final result was magical. From concept to execution, every element was designed to be both charming and cohesive – a fairy-tale celebration worthy of Raya’s milestone moment.
